If I Were a Shoe…

I have a silly question for you that you may have never been asked before…have y’all ever related to a piece of clothing or accessory? If you were to ask me this question a month ago, I’d say “UM PAIGE NO, YOU ARE WEIRD”. Now, I can say that I absolutely do! Here is the story of how this question and blog post came about…

I was given the opportunity to work with Finish Line and adidas to review the adidas Original Continental 80 shoe. I am not going to lie. I had to think about it for a second. I am really trying to keep my blog a place for vulnerability. So here is my story: I wore the shoes for a couple of weeks, and as nerdy as it sounds, I thought about the attributes of the shoe I realized that I really related to this shoes attributes. This sounds crazy..I know…but if you’ve made it this far, KEEP READING! You’ll see what I mean.

Below are three attributes of the shoe that really got me thinking:

Premium, Smooth Leather Upper
I am going to play off the word “premium”. I strive and push myself (maybe a little too hard) to put out the most premium/high quality content and to be a “premium” person in general. If I am being honest, I think about creative concepts all day and dream about them all night. I am always trying to one up myself in work and my personal life. You can imagine that, sometimes, that really takes a toll on me. BUT…I have realized that if I want to stand out, grow my business, inspire, etc, then I will do whatever it takes to be a “premium” gal!

Two-Toned Sweeping Stripe For Color-Contrasting Style
A lot of you asked about my day to day style in my recent Instagram story Q&A. I feel like my style is very “two-toned.” Most days I am chillin athletic wear. Leggings, cropped tees, and sneakers are my go-to! For example, all of these cute things I found on Finish Line Women are things I would 100% wear day-to-day:

However, I LOVE to get dressed up. I love shopping for funky and fun pieces. For example, the skirt and the bandeau top in my pic below aren’t things I would wear to lunch with my mom or to the grocery store. However, I would 100% wear this look out on the town or to a fun event! I love an outfit that is unusual or stands out. I’m over here wishing I had more events to dress up for! My life is pretty low key.

Rubber Outsole for Durable Traction
I’d love to say that I relate to this trait of the shoe, but it’s something I am working on. Let me explain…I would LOVE to say I am “durable”, but unfortunately, I am a very sensitive person. I know what you are thinking how the heck do you deal with the crazy world of social media? Honestly, some days I almost give up. Other days, I remind myself of why I continue to work hard on my brand and that I’m blessed to connect with so many people. I hope that one day I can completely withstand the wear and tear.

I would love to hear if any of you have a piece of clothing or accessory you connect with! If not…I guess I will just have to be okay with being a weirdo!

xo,
Paige

    Dear Paige,

Dont think you are just only one ☺️ Dont need to worry, especialy sometimes I have some totally weird feeling and memories for exact piece of my pieces of clothes, also in not only in good way. And if I have some bad memories on some pieces then is like more thinking of that piece than usually and when i feel more powerfull and wear it and nothing bad happens its break a rule of fhe bad memorie.
So maybe sometimes im thinking of clothes like this 💜❤️🧡

If i were a bag- i like tiny brandless bags. I call them the “stingy bags”, the kind where you can‘t help your friend put her left overs in or the kind where nobody asks you to help keep their car keys in cause it is just way too little. That way i don’t have to say NO to my dear sweet friends but instead let the size of my bag speak for me 🤪.

    I’m nice, I promise!
